Waste, Incinerators and Recycling
The Tory-controlled county council committed the whole county to an
incinerator near Stewartby just before it was abolished. The borough
council may have pulled out of the proposed scheme, but it has opened
the way for a bigger private incinerator on the same site.
Greens always have opposed incinerators, and we continue to oppose them.
I will work hard to reduce the amount of waste produced, for example
working with local industry to cut down the amount of waste they produce.
I would also bring in kerbside collections of more things, starting
with glass and recyclable plastic wrappers
