Transport and Traffic
Transport and traffic are major issues. Traffic problems aren't solved
by building more roads. On local radio there are adverts to get people
to buy houses near new roads. If you build roads, people move house
or change jobs to take advantage. The road soon clogs up.
We need to think more creatively. Traffic problems are solved by helping
people get around easily and efficiently without their cars. Reducing
the number of car journeys will help to unclog the streets. We must
improve public transport; and facilities for cyclists and people walking.
