All about Eve
Eve was born in Luton in 1979. After school she took a gap year to gain
work experience. Then she went to University College Warrington (part
of Manchester University) getting a degree in Performing Arts and Business
Management.
At university she became involved in theatre in education. This led her
to working with young people when she returned home to Bedfordshire.
Eve moved to Bedford in 2002 to work for the James Kingham Project. Eve
worked on the youth project at JKP for two years. Then she moved to work
for the County Council (and more recently Central Beds Council). Eve enjoys
cycling, and cycles to work when she's in the office.
From 2004-7 she studied at De Montfort University in Bedford for a degree
in social work.
Since moving to Bedford she has been involved in her local church. She
leads in worship, and is training as a preacher. This regularly takes
her to the villages of North Bedfordshire. She also helps with A:19 youth
group, and the Parent and Toddler Group. This has helped her raise awareness
of the things that she is passionate about, such as the fair trade movement,
social justice and environmental issues.
In her spare time she enjoys reading. Historical dramas and biographies
are a favourite. She also enjoys films, preferring good comedies, or science
fiction.
Her life has changed dramatically after becoming a mother, and she is
the proud Mum to two pre-school children. She loves spending time with
her family at home and out and about.
The result is that Eve is now a very busy working mum who cares passionately
about the planet that her children will live on and the town they will
live in. She has a very personal interest in the education system in Bedford
over the next couple of decades.
